Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is home care?
A: “Home care” encompasses a wide range of health and social services for individuals recovering from an acute illness, or managing a chronic illness. These services are delivered at home to recovering, disabled, chronically or terminally ill individuals whose needs may be medical, nursing, social, therapeutic treatment and/or assistance with the essential activities of daily living.
Home care staff travel to the client’s home. This includes a single-family dwelling, apartment, assisted living facility, group home, residential housing facility, adult day care, or congregate living environment.

A: Home care is considered the go-to health care service for individuals recuperating from an illness or surgery. It is also an alternative to long-term institutional care.
